What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Business Development and Performance Manager, the Financial Performance Analyst is responsible for delivering all financial calculations for Budgets, Forecasts, and the Business Plan across the complex Smart Solutions portfolio. The role covers all market segments and provides the Customer Business Management team (UK & Global) with accurate, insightful analysis to support operational, commercial, and strategic decision‑making.
Produce Smart Solutions Budget forecasts and the 10-Year Business Plan in line with the wider Iberdrola Global Liberalised Business strategy and agreed timelines.
Prepare summarised P&L reporting across the full Smart Solutions portfolio, broken down by product segment, with clear, informative commentary delivered within set deadlines.
Develop a strong understanding of margins, costs and profitability across Customer Business product areas (Home Energy Services, Home Energy Management and Low-Carbon Technology), including all margin components such as customer numbers, demand, and energy/non-energy costs, with the confidence to challenge assumptions.
Raising purchase orders, invoices and processing payments to 3rd parties for the Smart Solutions team Responsible for month end financial activity, reporting of actuals and coordinating with Control
Build knowledge of retail operating costs and key cost drivers, contributing challenge and insight to support accurate financial modelling.
Support the creation and ongoing management of Domestic product target margins. Design, implement, communicate and maintain new product-level Gross Margin target metrics used to assess budget/forecast profitability and evaluate new product proposals.
Act as coordinator for product revenue budget and forecast submissions, working closely with Senior Revenue Growth Managers and the Senior Product and Partner Manager.
Populate business templates required to calculate Gross Margin data for Budgets/Forecasts and provide support on system use, report extraction and data uploads.
Produce weekly/monthly performance reports and deliver meaningful analysis of actual results versus Budgets and Forecasts.
Provide ad-hoc profitability analysis in response to Senior Management requests.
What you’ll bring
Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a numerate or business-related discipline.
Highly driven and focused, with strong commercial, financial and due-diligence skills.
A proven track record of precision, accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Experience in creating robust financial analysis and presenting insights in a clear, concise format to Senior Management and Director-level stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Ability to influence and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
Self-motivated, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
Advanced practical knowledge of IT desktop tools, including expert spreadsheet modelling capability.
A strong orientation toward teamwork and collaborative working.
As a minimum, you will demonstrate:
Commercial delivery experience.
A proven track record of accuracy, precision and attention to detail.
Skilled communication with strong influencing ability.
Capability to manage multiple deliverables while staying focused on key priorities.
High numeracy and strong analytical thinking.
Advanced practical IT skills, including advanced spreadsheet modelling.
Experience of using SAP Financials
