We are looking for a highly analytical and proactive Financial Fraud Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our payments ecosystem, responsible for balancing robust fraud prevention with a frictionless checkout experience for legitimate users. You will act as the subject matter expert on payment risk, driving strategies that optimize our transaction approval rates while keeping bad actors at bay.
ResponsibilitiesContinuously evaluate and adjust payment risk levels and fraud rules across our billing platforms to maximize legitimate transaction approvals while minimizing chargebacks and fraudulent activity.
Champion and implement best practices for frictionless payment flows, ensuring genuine customers experience a smooth, hassle-free onboarding and purchasing journey.
Monitor day-to-day payment flows, investigate failed transactions, identify patterns of abuse, and resolve complex payment escalations in real-time.
Partner closely with the Product, RnD, and Compliance teams to design secure payment features, integrate new payment methods, and ensure alignment with global financial regulations (e.g., PSD2, SCA, KYC).
Conduct ongoing research on global payment trends, fraud vectors, and B2B SaaS industry benchmarks to keep Bright Data’s payment strategies ahead of the curve.
Build and maintain dashboards to track key payment metrics (approval rates, chargeback ratios, false positives) and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
Requirements2-4 years of experience as a Fraud Analyst, Payments Analyst, or Financial Risk Investigator within a global B2B/B2C SaaS, e-commerce, or fintech environment.
Hands-on experience working with major payment gateways and fraud prevention tools (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Riskified, Sift).
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MongoDB, Excel/Google Sheets. Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau) is a significant advantage.
Deep understanding of the global payments ecosystem, including online abuse vectors (i.e: phishing, account takeover, bot signups, AI. etc.). credit card processing, alternative payment methods, chargeback life cycles, and 3D Secure protocols.
Excellent written and verbal English skills.
