Financial Crime Senior Specialist

Summary

The FinCrime Ops Senior Specialist is a key partner to the Head of FinCrime Operations, supporting the execution and continuous improvement of AML, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, KYC/KYB onboarding, and regulatory reporting activities. In this role, you combine Financial Crime expertise with strong analytical and technology skills to help build a scalable and efficient FinCrime operating model. You turn data into actionable insights, support operational decision-making, and contribute to improving risk management, controls, and overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate AML, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring, and Sanctions Screening alerts.

• Conduct EDD and KYC/KYB onboarding checks, including risk identification and escalation.

• Provide subject-matter expertise and support consistent application of policies and procedures.

• Support process improvements, automation, and operational transformation initiatives.

• Analyse operational data, maintain reporting, and identify risks, trends, and inefficiencies.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders (Compliance, Product, Technology, Customer) to resolve issues and improve processes.

About the Ideal Candidate

• 8+ years of experience in AML, Financial Crime, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of AML and Fraud risks, typologies, and regulatory environments.

• Experience working in cross-functional and regulated environments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.

• Proactive, hands-on professional with a strong interest in technology, automation, and AI.

• Experience with Excel and Power BI (additional tools such as Moody’s, Kibana, or ComplyAdvantage is a plus).

• Fluent English and professional Spanish.
