About Bitstack

It all started with an idea in 2021. Initially built to democratize Bitcoin in France, Bitstack has gone from a simple product that invests spare change in bitcoin, to a crypto-native bank bringing a better way to save, spend, and grow money to our 300K+ users. We want to rebuild finance from the ground up to empower people to achieve financial freedom by participating in a more open and inclusive financial system. We’re a small, ambitious team of operators. We believe in moving fast, sweating the details, and creating products people truly love. At Bitstack, you’ll have the opportunity to shape not just our products, but the culture and practices of our entire organization. Bitstack is backed by YC, leading VCs like 13books Capital, Stillmark, Serena, and many more. We are building a product our users love and we are just getting started!

The Role

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a rigorous and experienced Financial Crime Officer to join our Compliance team and take ownership of our AML/CFT and fraud prevention framework.

In this role, you will build, maintain and continuously improve our compliance setup.

You’ll be at the core of our risk management: leading investigations, overseeing customer due diligence, and acting as the key link between Compliance, Product, Engineering and Operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

At Bitstack, compliance is at the core of how we build trust and scale. You will :

  • Build and scale our AML/CFT & anti-fraud frameworks to support our European growth

  • Turn regulatory complexity (MiCA, DORA, DAC8) into clear, actionable processes ;

  • Detect, investigate and act on suspicious activity to keep our platform safe ;

  • Own KYC/CDD workflows end-to-end, including high-risk and complex cases ;

  • Drive Travel Rule compliance across our crypto ecosystem ;

  • Act as a key partner to banks, regulators and internal teams ;

  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering to build smart, automated compliance tools ;

  • Keep Bitstack audit-ready at all times ;

  • Promote a strong culture of compliance, risk awareness and ownership.

What We’re Looking For

We care more about impact than titles. The ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years in Compliance / AML / Financial Crime (crypto, fintech or payments)

  • Experience filing Suspicious Activity Reports (TRACFIN)

  • Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic…)

  • Solid experience in transaction monitoring, alert handling and investigations

  • Good understanding of the regulatory landscape (ACPR, AMF, MiCA / PSAN, Travel Rule)

  • Experience working with banking or payment partners

  • Fluent in French and English

Nice to Have
  • Experience working on DORA or DAC8 topics

  • An AML certification (CAMS, ICA or equivalent)

  • A background in a regulated crypto company, neobank or payment institution

  • Exposure to ACPR or AMF audits

Process
  • Introductory Call
    An initial conversation with Mélanie from our People Team to get to know you better and share more details about the role, the team, and how we work at Bitstack.

  • Team Interview

    A discussion with the team to explore in more depth your experience with collaboration, your ways of working, and how you might fit within the team.

  • Hiring Manager Interview
    A discussion with our Head of Risk & Compliance to dive deeper into your experience, expectations, and how you approach your role and impact.

  • Founder Interview
    A final discussion with our CEO to align on vision and expectations.
