Purpose of the role

To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems to.
  • Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
  • Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
  • Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.

Join us as a Financial Crime Agile Testing Analyst at Barclays, where you’ll help shape the evolution of our financial crime control testing and assurance landscape, driving innovation, risk discipline and delivery excellence. You’ll apply data-led insight, agile ways of working and strong stakeholder engagement to strengthen financial crime controls, support regulatory confidence and help protect Barclays, its customers and its reputation.

To be successful as a Financial Crime Agile Testing Analyst, you should have experience with:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in Financial Crime Assurance or Control Testing within a 2nd line function, with an understanding of investigative processes, control testing and hypothesis-led review.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear testing outputs, senior-level materials and concise stakeholder updates.

  • Sound understanding of compliance risk, financial crime risk, regulatory expectations and the importance of strengthening controls within a highly regulated financial services environment.

Desirable skillsets

  • Advisory or consulting experience, including the ability to create memos, pitch ideas, support the insights, observations or outcomes.

  • Project delivery experience, including the ability to prioritise work, manage activity in a dynamic environment and drive outcomes through agile or iterative ways of working.

  • Knowledge of case management systems (like Salesforce), workflows, data handling or analytical tools used to support testing, investigations, reporting or control assessment.

This role will be based out of Pune, India.
