SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Prepares financial statements, directs the preparation of the payroll, assists departments in budgeting and forecasts in the company's revenues and expenditures, and oversees accounts payables and receivables.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
1. Prepares the corporate financial statement according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to ensure that the financial position and results of operations are accurately reflected for internal and external use.
2. Directs department staff in performing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Identifies opportunities to improve the financial management of the company, conserve resources, or achieve cost savings.
4. Assists department heads in preparing their budgets and in planning for growth.
5. Prepares cost/benefit studies to assist manufacturing staff in evaluating equipment purchases and timing.
6. Consults with manufacturing staff to implement inventory controls to ensure accuracy of information and documentation of resources.
7. Assists department heads in interpreting financial information and in utilizing managerial accounting principles to improve decision making.
8. Monitors the 401K profit sharing plan and confirms that it is being managed according to applicable regulations.
9. Assists in preparing state and federal tax payments and returns.
10. Implements and periodically reviews department accounting controls and methods.
11. Meets periodically with department staff to consult with them and improve their performance and provides resources to assist them as necessary.
12. Assists Human Resources in administration of the Company’s ESPP.
13. Administers the Company’s omnibus stock option plan.
14. Performs other financially related tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business with extensive course work or experience in accounting.
• A minimum of eight years of responsible accounting experience with experience preparing financial statements and advising management in budgeting and financial management, with three of those years in a leadership role.
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• A general knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Planning and its application.
• A thorough understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles.
• A broad understanding of tax and SEC requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with others as a member of a team.
• A broad understanding of supervisory and managerial concepts and the ability to apply them in helping others to improve their performance.
• Effective oral communications skills, including the ability to explain financial management and accounting concepts to managers and staff.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Designation as a Certified Public Accountant.
