Financial Controller

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the global financial operations of our fast-growing global tech startup. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring financial discipline, compliance, and efficiency as we scale globally. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial strategy, streamline processes, and maintain robust financial controls across multiple jurisdictions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Prepare and present consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.

• Develop and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets.

• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and treasury functions.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory reporting, and audit requirements across multiple regions.

• Oversee transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and cross-border financial matters.

• Collaborate with external auditors and advisors to manage tax and regulatory obligations.

Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

• Optimize financial systems, processes, and automation to support rapid scaling.

• Implement best-in-class financial policies, ensuring efficiency and transparency.

• Partner with tech and operations teams to enhance financial reporting and analytics.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team. The operational finance team will continue to operate from India and will be a part of Builders Global Capabilities Center.

• Work closely with business leaders to drive financial accountability.

• Serve as a key liaison between finance, legal, and commercial teams.

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Financial Controller role.

• Strong experience in a high-growth tech startup or multinational company.

• Deep knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, tax regulations, and cross-border finance.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial automation tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

• CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
