As a Financial Controller at Huhtamaki, you are part of an international team that is committed to both innovation and sustainability. You play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, preparing reports and analyzing financial data. Your insights help management make strategic decisions and optimize processes.
What does the job include?
As a Financial Controller, you work closely with the Finance Manager and the financial team. You are responsible for managing and improving the financial control processes within the organization. This includes monitoring the entire financial administration, preparing detailed financial reports and supporting management decisions with sharp financial analyses.
An important part of your role is bringing together financial information from different business units and locations. You ensure that the financial data from various departments and projects is integrated into overarching reports. This helps create a clear overview of the financial performance of the organization as a whole. In addition, you work closely with budget holders and other departments to gather accurate input and convert it into useful reports for management.
In addition, you ensure that the monthly close is completed in a timely and accurate manner, including carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and reporting financial figures to head office. You monitor compliance with accounting principles (IFRS) and regulations and support internal and external audits. You monitor the financial performance of the organization through KPIs and help develop cost-saving initiatives. Your work focuses on optimizing financial processes, controlling costs and monitoring the financial integrity of the organization. You contribute to the budgeting process and ensure accurate forecasts and analyses of financial data.

What activities can you expect during a working day?
You start your day with a meeting with the Finance Manager and Site Controller, discussing financial progress and budgets. You then work on the monthly end, carry out balance sheet reconciliations and analyze financial results. You contact budget holders to provide them with financial insights and discuss possible process improvements. Throughout the day, you collect financial data from various departments and locations, after which you integrate it into your reports. You also prepare reports for management and auditors to ensure that all regulations and internal processes are properly complied with.
The job requirements:
- At least a higher professional education degree in finance or a related field;
- At least 5 years of work experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar position;
- Excellent oral and written command of the Dutch and English languages.

- Your salary — based on the weight of the job and your experience — is between €61,500 and €82,000 per year based on 40 hours per week, including 8% vacation allowance and a 13th month;
