Hale Hamilton (Valves) Limited, part of CIRCOR’s Industrial and Maritime Divison, is a leading manufacturer of pressure and flow control solutions for application on various Submarine and Surface Ship platforms and for applications in Industrial segments such as Renewable Energy, Industrial Gas and Power.
For our location in Uxbridge, in the Greater London area, we are looking for a Financial Controller for a maternity leave cover until early 2028.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance leader with broad financial expertise and a collaborative approach. In addition to managing all aspects of the finance function, you will lead a team comprising an Accounts Payable Supervisor, Assistant Financial Accountant, Financial Accountant, and Management Accountant.
Your responsibilities:
- Ensure financial and budgetary control of all non-project expenditure
- Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with an explanation of significant movements, investigate and action any reconciling items
- Preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns ensuring financial reporting and records are maintained in accordance with relevant legislation and professional standards
- Cashflow management and bank reconciliations
- Mange debtors, highlighting overdue receipts at the earliest opportunity to the appropriate stakeholders
- Ensure segregation of financial duties, i.e. invoice approval, payroll approval and bank payments
- Working with the Finance Director, support the forecasting, budgeting and strategic plan with particular responsibility for the balance sheet and cash flow
- Facilitate internal and external audit in conjunction with Management Accountant and Finance Director to ensure that all issues are dealt with timely and efficiently
- Ensure adequate financial control is exercised over key expenditure including the evaluation of risks and opportunities
- Perform overhead variance analysis, where appropriate, against the budget and forecast
- Support and challenge managers in understanding their department budgets and advise on any actions needed
- Any other duties as and when required
Your profile:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accountancy qualification is mandatory
- Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience
- Understanding and able to apply knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
- Experience in the utilization of IFS is an advantage
- Experience in SME organisation and project-based organisations
- Problem-solving techniques to analyse past and current performance and recommending objectives to improve productivity and profitability
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously whilst able to motivate others around the business
- Good communicator who is highly analytical, with good attention to detail and able to prioritise tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally across functional teams to achieve goals
