Arganteal is a technology and professional services company seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to oversee our accounting and payroll operations, ensure financial accuracy, and support strategic decision-making. This is a fractional or part-time position designed for a seasoned professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can deliver high-impact results with limited oversight.
Position SummaryThe Fractional Financial Controller will be responsible for managing all financial and accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting, supporting compliance, and offering strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in QuickBooks Online, experience with payroll systems (preferably Rippling), and be located in the Austin, TX area.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting operations, including P&L, AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Maintain and optimize financial records within QuickBooks Online.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance tracking.
Ensure internal controls and financial policies are implemented and followed.
Collaborate with external tax professionals and auditors as needed.
Manage payroll processes and reporting, preferably with Rippling or similar platforms.
Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to company leadership.
Stay current on financial regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior financial leadership role.
Expertise in QuickBooks Online (required).
Familiarity with payroll platforms, with Rippling experience strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial compliance standards.
Comfortable working in a small business or startup environment.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Based in or near Austin, Texas, with the ability to attend periodic in-person meetings.
