Sales, Group Savings and Retirement / Financial Security Advisor / Montréal , Quebec, or Toronto / Hybrid / Permanent role

As a Financial Consultant you will serve as the first point of contact for plan members, providing personalized financial guidance to help them maximize the benefits of their group retirement plan. This role is crucial in fostering early engagement, increasing contributions, and building long-term relationships with members who are starting their financial journey.

The Financial Consultant focuses on education, asset growth, and financial empowerment, ensuring participants make informed decisions about their retirement savings, asset consolidation, and financial planning.

This position requires strong communication skills, knowledge of financial solutions offered to members, and a client-focused approach to encourage proactive participation and long-term asset retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement and Retention:

  • Act as a trusted financial resource for small net worth plan clients, helping them understand the benefits of their group plan and fostering long-term relationships.

  • Proactively engage participants to increase contribution rates, ensuring they take full advantage of employer matching and tax benefits.

  • Encourage consolidation of external assets into the plan by educating participants on fee advantages and simplified management.

  • Proactively call and take calls from existing group retirement savings plan members who are retiring or approaching retirement and assist them with navigating through their retirement income options.

  • Support participants during key life events (e.g., job changes, marriage, home purchases) with basic financial guidance.

Operational Efficiency and Collaboration

  • Leverage CRM tools and client data insights to track engagement and identify opportunities for targeted outreach.

  • Collaborate with Consultant Support Associates to ensure effective management of administrative tasks and success of special projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of retirement plans, group savings programs, and investment fundamentals.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and engage clients at various financial literacy levels.

  • Ability to simplify complex financial concepts and make them accessible to a broad audience.

  • Excellent organizational skills, autonomy and team spirit.

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to handle a high volume of clients and calls in an efficient way.

  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations in financial services.

  • Fluency in French, both verbal and written, is an asset

  • Comfort with CRM systems, financial planning tools, and data analytics to track participant interactions and identify opportunities.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in financial advisory, wealth management, or client-facing financial services.

  • A valid and active Life License in Quebec/Ontario or willingness to obtain.

  • Experience with group retirement plans and financial literacy initiatives is an asset.
