As Financial Business Partner, you will be a member of the Business Controlling Team. Your expertise will be crucial in understanding and steering Product Development’s and Corporate Operations’ business goals, objectives and business models. This will enable you to link business-critical information to extensive analysis, assembling decision-making insights and outlining possible outcomes aligned with the company’s goals.
You will work both as a sole contributor and team player, while regularly connecting with business partners, such as the Business Area Head, Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Case owners, and fellow Controllers and Accountants. Your financial performance analysis will be vital to the steady improvement of Avaloq’s innovation and profitability. Your ability to understand financial and business information, translate data into decision-taking insights, connect different business perspectives and communicate effectively will be key to support Avaloq’s success story.
Your key tasks and responsabilitis
- Monitor, analyze, and report monthly financial and operational performance of the business area, including strategic initiatives and key projects and ensure sound and target driven financial steering.
- Drive the periodic project forecasting process, coordinating variance analysis and the development and execution of gap-closing measures.
- Lead and facilitate performance management forums, including business performance reviews and business case evaluations.
- Coordinate target-setting and budgeting processes across multiple organizational and divisional hierarchy levels.
- Review and approve commercial contracts within the designated area of responsibility, ensuring financial compliance and business alignment.
- Prepare and execute monthly closing activities, including accrual calculations and project completion assessments.
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop robust product business cases and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Collaborate closely with business controllers across the organization to ensure effective end-to-end financial steering and performance management.
- Your reporting line is directly to the Head of Business Controlling
- A controlling academic background (i.e., bachelor’s degree in finance or business economics)
- Minimum of 6 years experience in financial controlling, business controlling or group controlling preferably within the financial or IT industry
- English-fluent
- Expert in Microsoft Office applications and especially in Excel but also skilful user of digital application such as Power BI or SAP BW
- High degree of confidence and flair for digital products
- Exhibits excellent analytical skills, the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment, and meeting overall objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident in presenting and guiding cross functional discussions
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and high degree of initiative and dependability
