Job Description

Ingram Industries is seeking a Financial Auditor to work in our Nashville, TN office.  Under the direction of experienced associates, this person will assist in projects identified in the Internal Audit plan and special projects of Ingram Industries and its affiliates.  The Financial Auditor will Independently perform audit analysis of data from various departments and divisions of the company and work with associates and business groups to assess the adequacy of controls in key business processes.  

What you will be doing:

  • Understanding department standards for work performance and executing accordingly.
  • Contributing to the improvement of department standards and processes. 
  • Preparing documentation resulting from testing performed in financial, operational, and compliance audits or reviews and supporting conclusions reached. Specific project responsibilities include: 
    • Performing specific review procedures assigned within the time frame provided. 
    • Ensuring the adequacy and appropriateness of the supporting documentation (e.g., flowcharts, narratives, spreadsheets, tests, analyses, etc.). 
    • Informing the project manager of any problems or situations encountered. 
    • Identifying issues and process improvement opportunities as part of the assigned audit 
  • Executing assigned duties in accordance with time budgets and project requirements. 
  • Ensuring all documentation is properly prepared and performed in accordance with department and professional standards. 
  • Assisting in Internal Audit’s role in external audits of the company. 
  • Providing project status updates to department management as agreed. 
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or requested. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; other major acceptable with appropriate experience.    
  • 1 or more years relevant experience preferred. 
  • CPA or CIA strongly preferred.  
  • Experience in public accounting and/or internal audit preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and common audit software. 
  • Skilled at gathering, documenting, and evaluating information to solve difficult problems. 
  • Ability to think critically and develop conclusions. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to work in team-oriented setting. 
  • Must have demonstrated ability to develop subject matter expertise over technical areas. 
  • Discretion, tact, and the ability to work with deadlines is required.
