General Description:

The Financial Applications Senior Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of the firm’s custom applications within the financial systems. This role involves significant workflow development to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the reliability and performance of financial applications.
 

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand user needs; collaborate in drafting initial proposal and design of software to meet these needs.
  • Assess feasibility of design and project parameters within time constraints.
  • Develop, maintain supporting financial applications, ensuring their ongoing reliability, integrity, functionality, and performance.
  • Design and implement workflows to automate and optimize financial processes, with a focus on business intake and risk areas.
  • Integrate new business intake and conflicts back into the financial system to ensure seamless data flow and accuracy.
  • Document technical and business requirements in support of requests and process improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Finance, IT, Business Intake, Privacy & Compliance, Legal and Risk, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of financial systems.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, automation, and customization of financial systems applications.
  • Serve within project teams as a technical expert in developing creative solutions to complex financial systems applications issues and problems.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
  • Monitor and assist with software testing and validation procedures and programming.
  • Monitors and assists with software installation; ensures application operates within established specifications.
  • Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law. 
  • Special projects and duties as assigned. 

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and workflow applications.
  • Proficiency in workflow development and process automation, particularly in business intake and risk areas.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365.
     

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial applications development and support.
  • Experience with workflow development and process automation tool.
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
