About This Role

This role encompasses two pillars:

1. Financial Reporting and Internal Control Oversight:

· Manage and deliver accurate financial reporting statements in accordance with both US GAAP and local GAAP.

· Ensure a robust internal control environment for a newly established Swiss-based legal entity.

· This position requires a seasoned accountant with extensive experience in financial reporting and internal controls.

2. Strategic Project Initiatives :

· Lead key strategic projects aimed at enhancing tools, transaction/process flows across the European organization.

· Oversee ERP implementation, reporting tool development, reconciliations, and various ad hoc improvements.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams/leaders to drive efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

· In charge of US GAAP and local statutory accounting and tax requirements for a Switzerland-based legal entity

· Coordinate and manage the month-end closing processes, including preparation of trial balance for HFM submission and reporting.

· Support reviews and analytics on balance sheet results and deep-dive reconciliation reviews

· Annual preparation of statutory financial statements, including statutory to US GAAP reconciliation and coordination of the external audit.

· Create and maintain accounting standard work documentation.

· Implement and maintain a strong internal controls environment in line with Carrier requirements, as well as compliance with local regulations

· Assisting and supporting in executing projects (ERP, transactions/business flows…)

· Follow up complex and technical topics and new project to implementation.

· Strong collaboration with other functional leads

· Participate in ad-hoc tasks/projects as needed

UW Revision of Key Responsibilities:

• Own US GAAP, Swiss GAAP, statutory accounting, tax, and financial reporting requirements for the Swiss legal entity.

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial results, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting packages.

• Coordinate statutory financial statements, external audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews.

• Maintain compliance with SOX and internal control requirements, including monitoring control effectiveness and driving remediation of identified deficiencies, exceptions, and audit findings.

• Establish, document, maintain, and enhance accounting processes, standard work, and internal controls to support regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.

• Lead and support finance-related projects, including ERP implementations, system enhancements, process improvements, and business transformation initiatives.

• Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leadership, including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Operations, IT, Shared Services, the Controller, CFO, and other key stakeholders to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.

• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, reporting capabilities, and business workflows.

• Provide financial analysis and support strategic business decisions and management initiatives as required.

• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the role.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with 8+ years of financial accounting experience

· English and German languages a must (Swiss German a plus)

· Specialized knowledge in both US GAAP and Swiss GAAP accounting, along with a good working knowledge of local Swiss taxes and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

· CPA/CA preferred

· 8+ years’ experience in Financial Accounting

· Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles and internal control procedures

· Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, ERP Applications, SAP S4 Hana, and HFM

· Strong communication skills with the ability to present recommendations effectively to management in both written form and orally

· Ability to work with different partners and with consulting companies

· Adaptable/Self starter

· Self-motivated, able to work independently

· Strong strategic thinking with ability to plan and execute long-term goals

· Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

· Attention to detail and delivering a high-quality work product within deadlines


Pay Range:

CHF104,500.00 - CHF208,500.00

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of financial accounting experience
  • Fluent English and German (Swiss German a plus)
  • Specialized knowledge of US GAAP and Swiss GAAP
  • Working knowledge of Swiss taxes and local regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles and internal control procedures
  • CPA or CA
