JOB DESCRIPTION
Financial Analyst is a critical Finance position; responsible for daily accounting, reconciliation, general financial analysis.
Financial Analyst Key Responsibilities:
- Support and promote a safe work environment at the plant.
- Financial Analyst will assist the Controller with plant financial activities including GL accounting and reconciliations.
- Support the month-end closing process including preparation of manual Journal Entries and ensuring appropriate cost allocations.
- Maintain internal controls processes and documentation related to Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Support internal and external audit activities.
- Monitor receivables and payables activity and address issues as necessary.
- Maintain fixed asset folders to track capital projects from CAR to CIP to Assets Register.
- Track program launch expenses and report out to Business Unit and Plant Management.
- Support inventory controls including annual physical inventory to ensure accurate inventory balances and perpetual analysis.
- Support and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Support controller in preparation of monthly outlook requirements as well as annual and long-range plans.
- Cost accounting functions: BOM review, cost roll-ups, inventory analysis. Annual standard material, labor, burden, overhead cost setting. Work with commercial team to ensure correct pricing.
- Perform additional related duties and analyses as directed by the Controller or Plant Manager.
Education / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3+ Years working experience in an Accounting or Finance position, automotive/manufacturing industry preferred.
- Fluent in MS Office applications, expert in MS Excel. Experience with SAP and Hyperion applications preferred.
- Familiarity with Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex or ambiguous situations; ability to work under deadlines.
- Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings by verbal or presentation format.
