Financial Analyst (15 Month Contract)

The Corporate Finance team is seeking a highly motivated and career minded Financial Analyst to support the Marketing and Commercial teams. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the analyst will work closely with internal clients to provide accurate and timely financial analysis with the goal of improving the quality of decision making.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing the annual budget process, quarterly forecasting, reporting and ad hoc analysis for the Marketing and Ad Fund ($100M+ in fees) and other areas of the business.

The individual will provide leadership by utilizing quantitative and qualitative financial analysis to identify areas to improve, challenge viability of plans/forecasts and present insights to enable timely intervention.

Key Activities:

Marketing & Ad Fund and Other Areas of the Business

  • Support the Marketing & Ad Fund, and other areas of the business.
  • Assist in annual budget process, including coordination of budget schedules and submissions with business stakeholders.
  • Responsible for accurate reporting, including the preparation, maintenance and analysis of financial information supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variance reporting and deep-dive reviews to improve the accuracy of forecasting and provide meaningful financial insights to the CCO and Commercial leadership team.
  • Provide support in monthly conversations with Business Partners to discuss insights, trends, risks, and opportunities and adequately reflect rolling monthly projections of key performance indicators.
  • Prepare and manage year end accrual process with Corporate AP and Business Partners.
  • Liaise with external auditors to prepare audit schedules and reconciliations. Assist external auditors by providing support to audit related queries.
  • Support Enterprise Performance Transformation (EPT) 2025 milestones delivery on time, assist in UAT testing to ensure historical data accuracy and functionality of the new systems.
  • Automate routine tasks and drive process improvements where possible.

Projects & Analysis

  • Collaborate with the Power BI developers to support the quarterly update of Power BI Dashboard reporting for Marketing and Ad Fund business partners.
  • Support the finance transformation project as needed by actively engaging in user testing, platform development, change management with business partners.
  • Utilize best practices to improve/build KPI reporting/dashboard for Marketing and Advertising spend on a global basis.
  • Track various projects with significant investments to ensure pacing is on track.
  • Assist with Funds ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Assist with the tracking, storage and administration of Commercial contracts.
  • Backup duties for Manager of Marketing and Ad Fund.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and oral communication with ability to communicate data and findings to all management levels.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while being cognizant of deadlines.
  • Highly resourceful problem solver, able to access multiple information sources to independently solve problems.
  • Challenge the norm while demonstrating a “can do” attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy.

Experience, Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of SunSystems, Microsoft Dynamics 365, OneStream, and other ERP’s would be considered a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical skillset, including the utilization of Power BI, Essbase and Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Completion or working towards CPA accounting designation.
  • Ability to learn and understand additional technical knowledge and skills as required.

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
