The Opportunity
Abbott’s Clinical Toxicology business is driven by the vision, passion and dedication of its employees who are committed to developing and delivering innovative drug testing products.
Abbott is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join the Commercial finance team in our Lake Forest office. As the Financial Analyst, you will assist with financial operations, working collaboratively with the finance team, as well as directly supporting the business GM, National Sales Manager, and the Sales team. You will be a significant contributor to sales analytics, budgeting, forecasting, business modeling, profitability analyses, and a wide range of ad-hoc reporting projects.
We seek someone who approaches projects with an innovative, service-oriented mindset, and a strong emphasis on data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical mind, an ability to communicate ideas effectively, and a strong desire to make an impact.
What You’ll Work On
-
Prepare monthly financial statements and assist in preparation of monthly reporting package to stakeholders, ensuring consistency, accuracy and integrity of deliverables

Compare and analyze monthly results to forecast, budget and prior year, identifying and documenting key business drivers of variances
-
Work collaboratively with the commercial sales team, finance team and business leaders to develop and maintain detailed quarterly financial forecasts
-
Support daily refresh and reporting of monthly and quarterly revenue projections
-
Perform monthly product and customer level revenue and profitability analysis
-
Identify and track key performance metrics pertaining to business operations including new customer wins, new product introductions, value-based pricing, and other benchmarking
-
Analyze and monitor selling, general and administrative expenses and associated movements in headcount
-
Assist with special projects and prepare ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making (e.g., business forecasting and profitability projections)

Identify and implement process improvement and reporting automation
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
-
1-3 years of relevant work experience
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
-
Ability to organize and interpret large amounts of data
-
Excel mastery and proven experience in building strong financial models required

Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
