Job Description:

About the role:

This position will be working in the Management Insights & Reporting team within the GB Finance department, accountable for monthly and quarterly reporting. This involves supporting our Quarterly Business Review package and monthly forecast. In addition, this role is responsible for various ad hoc requests and analyses that are prepared to provide management with additional insights on how our business is performing. This position will work in conjunction with the Manager as well as the Director of the Management Insights & Reporting team.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the creation of the SLH Quarterly Business Review (QBR) results package by updating relevant files and deck
  • Support the forecast process by collecting, validating, and inputting data into financial models, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to support strategic decision-making and respond to ad hoc requests from leadership
  • Collaborate with different cross-functional teams to streamline information flow and ensure timely delivery of critical financial insights
  • Help identify areas for process improvement in data collection and analysis
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of analysis processes

What do you need to succeed?

  • 3+ years of Financial Analyst experience
  • University Degree
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Curiosity to learn
  • Proficiency with MS office package
  • Strong initiative, self-motivated and demonstrates ability to work independently and meet timelines within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Advance skills in the use of Excel spreadsheets and financial modelling

Unique Requirements:

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during month end and quarter end

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
