SUMMARY:
Assists Chief Financial Officer with Operating and Capital Budgets. Assists Gaming Departments in analyzing Revenue Trends and effectiveness of Marketing Events and Promotions. Provides back up support to Warehouse, Revenue Audit and General Accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in developing and managing the Capital and Operations Budget Process.
- Works with departments to provide alerts to Chief Financial Officer and GM of significant deviations to budget and analyzes information.
- Assist in managing Month End and Year End Close Process.
- Assist Warehouse Supervisor, Revenue Audit Manager and Senior Accountant when needed.
- Assists Chief Financial Officer in developing and implementing accounting technology upgrades and training.
- Assists the Chief Financial Officer in managing the relationship with internal and external auditors, consultants, federal regulatory agencies, suppliers and other entities necessary for business functions.
- Leads or assists on special projects required by the Chief Financial Officer that will not cause an internal control conflict with any duties listed above.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the accounting system.
- Acts as a liaison to all other departments with respect to financial questions.
- Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property.
- Works with Finance team to make improvements in processes.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Accounting System including preparing asset additions, deletions, and General Ledger Entry.
- Manage Capital Expenditure Process including: Review and signoff on all Capital Expense requests and GL account charges and track all Capital Expense projects to their allotted budgets.
- Performs all functions in accordance with Tribal, Federal, State Health & Safety Regulations, Gaming Regulations, and BlueWater Resort & Casino policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned (job description permitting), or as approved by the Tribal Gaming Agency.

- Knowledge of financial operations and budget concepts.
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations, according to GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Skills with analyzing financial data and promptly generate accurate reports.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office, Excel, accounting software, and databases.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members, customers and outside contacts.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university preferred; or combination of six (6) years of education and Financial Analyst or Senior Accountant experience.
- Experience with casino or hotel financial reporting, cost benefit analysis and financial statement interpretation preferred.
