We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst within our Midstream & Marketing group based in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, with an emphasis on Midstream & Marketing activities
  • Strong ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends in market data
  • Conduct variance analysis compared to outlook, budget, and previous periods, and communicate key drivers to management using dashboards and visual summaries
  • Support monthly close activities by handling accruals, estimates, and tie-outs, ensuring results accurately reflect operational activity in accordance with accrual accounting principles
  • Maintain and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and work with Accounting to resolve issues promptly
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance management reporting tools, including automated reports and analytics to improve efficiency and provide deeper insights
  • Working closely with other departments in recording and analyzing financial data
  • Assisting with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projects
  • Other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree
  • 3 to 5 years Corporate Accounting Experience (would consider 2-3 years of Public Accounting)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines
  • Prior experience in Midstream, Marketing, Energy, or Commodity-based businesses
  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic
  • Ability to analyze data and reach own conclusions
  • Exposure to forecasting, budget, outlook, or planning processes
  • Experience with inventory valuation or commodity margin analysis
  • Independent thinker with the ability to problem solve
  • Takes accountability and strives to increase results
  • Ability to work Overtime required for monthly closing activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Midstream& Marketing Oil and Gas experience/background a plus
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) a plus
  • SAP & Microsoft Excel experience a plus
