Scope: This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial insights, developing forecasting models, and guiding leadership in data-driven decision-making. The Senior Financial Analyst ensures financial performance aligns with program objectives, contract requirements, and approved budgets while overseeing daily operations of junior financial staff.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Lead and manage financial analysis projects, forecasting activities, and statistical studies to support contract performance and strategic planning.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate program trends, long-term projections, and investment scenarios.
- Manage monthly financial reporting cycles, including variance analysis, obligation tracking, burn rate analysis, and development of executive-level reports.
- Provide recommendations to leadership on investment opportunities, resource allocation, and project-related financial decisions.
- Supervise and mentor subordinate financial staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous professional development.
- Monitor financial performance to ensure contract, department, and project milestones are met while adhering to approved budgets and NAVSEA requirements.
- Support audit readiness, compliance activities, and preparation of financial documentation for internal and government stakeholders.
- Collaborate with program management, contracts, and technical teams to ensure alignment between financial forecasts and operational execution.
- At least 10 years of experience and Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may satisfy degree requirements.
- Experience managing and executing at least three of the following appropriations: O&MN, RDT&EN, OPN, SCN funds (or other service equivalent funds).
- Desired: Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy ERP), and the Program Budget Information System (PBIS).
Skills Required
- At least 10 years of experience and Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may satisfy degree requirements.
- Experience managing and executing at least three of the following appropriations: O&MN, RDT&EN, OPN, SCN (or service equivalents).
