Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Financial Analyst (Level 2)/ Principal Financial Analyst (Level 3). The position will be located at our NG facility in Rocket Center, WV (This position is NOT REMOTE or HYBRID) just outside of Cumberland, MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops, and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuse and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL has supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Strategic planning, reporting, and analysis of key financial metrics (Sales, Margin, Cash, Awards). Includes quarterly Estimate-at-Complete (EAC) contract profitability assessment, cash flow/balance sheet management, risk and opportunity assessment
- Support monthly and quarterly financial deliverables and analysis
- Support development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP) through collaboration with Business and Program Management
- Perform ad-hoc exercises for financial impact/profitability analysis
- Collaborative work style: ability to interface with different functions and levels of leadership both within and outside of the BU
- Operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, while maintaining attention to detail
- Other duties as assigned
This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, (or related field) – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.
- High proficiency with MS Office tools, especially Excel
- Successful candidate will have proficiency in the following competencies: manages complexity, action oriented, communicates effectively, plans and aligns, situational adaptability
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be able to work onsite in Rocket Center, WV (This position is NOT REMOTE or HYBRID)

- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, (or related field) – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, (or related field) – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, (or related field)
- High proficiency with MS Office tools, especially Excel
- Successful candidate will have proficiency in the following competencies: manages complexity, action oriented, communicates effectively, plans and aligns, situational adaptability
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be able to work onsite in Rocket Center, WV (This position is NOT REMOTE or HYBRID)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Northrop Grumman Weapons Systems financial reporting tools (SAP, Costpoint, Cobra, Cognos)
- Prior experience with financial analysis and reporting including development of forecast, profitability, and cash flow analysis
- Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and experience
- Detail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to multitask
- Self-motivated and works well in team environment
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
