While reporting directly to the Director, FP&A Operations, as the Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence through a broad range of financial and operational analyses supporting manufacturing performance, working capital management, cash flow visibility, and strategic business decisions. Additional responsibilities include plant and cost reviews, manufacturing CAPEX support, procurement and structural transformation analyses, special project assignments, and financial process improvements.

What you'll be doing:

  • Prepare and review LOH and cost analyses to support plant performance, cost visibility, margin improvement, and operational decision-making
  • Support plant reviews by analyzing operating results, key financial drivers, manufacturing performance trends, risks, opportunities, and follow-up actions
  • Conduct financial analyses and special project work for the divisions, including preparation of pro formas, discounted cash flows, OCF analyses, ROI evaluations, and business cases related to major expansions, acquisitions, divestitures, capital investments, and business valuations
  • Support the manufacturing CAPEX process, including review of project assumptions, financial projections, approval documentation, capital policy compliance, and post-completion performance tracking
  • Lead or support DSI, DPO, and broader working capital reviews to identify performance trends, improvement opportunities, and actions to optimize cash conversion
  • Perform procurement analyses to evaluate material costs, supplier impacts, savings opportunities, inflation trends, and financial implications of sourcing decisions
  • Support structural transformation initiatives by preparing financial models, validating cost savings, tracking benefits, and assessing impacts to operating performance and cash flow
  • Develop and implement approaches and templates to improve financial reporting, forecasting, planning, analytics, and management review processes
  • Undertake statistical analysis and analytical/industry research to support business planning, benchmarking, and strategic decision-making
  • Assist with training of new manufacturing and sales personnel in Sonoco accounting and financial systems
  • Other duties as assigned

This position can be located in Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC.

  • Four Year Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent
  • Preferred Certifications: CPA, CMA
  • Individual has strong knowledge of Sonoco's business and/or experience in other manufacturing settings
  • Experience with Oracle/OPM, Onestream, and QAD
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies
  • Strong analytical and critical skills that drive a continuous improvement mindset
  • Treasury/Cash Management background a plus but not required
  • Manufacturing Operations background a plus but not required

Compensation: 

Analyst -Financial: The annual base salary range for this role is from $67,760 to $76,230.

Analyst II - Financial: The annual base salary range for this role is from $88,000 to $99,000.

Analyst III - Financial: The annual base salary range for this role is from $107,760 to $121,230, plus annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary. 

Senior Financial Analyst: The annual base salary range for this role is from $122,320 to $137,610, plus annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary. 

This is a progression position and level will be based on candidate experience and business needs.
