Overview

SCCI is seeking a Financial Analyst I to join our team! If you enjoy analyzing data and providing helpful insight based on that data, this may be the role for you! The successful candidate will collect, organize, and analyze financial information to enable effective cost and performance evaluation by program and project managers. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA


This is a part-time position with an expected workload of 8-20 hours per week. The work hours will be flexible and based on program needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Duties include developing project spending plans
  • Tracking estimated versus actual expenditures
  • Tracking/reporting on budget/funding obligations and team travel expenditures
  • Provides various other management support
  • Requires interaction with high-level contacts
  • Exposure to sensitive information necessitating considerable use of tact, discretion and judgment
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline 
  • Two (2)+ years of experience providing financial management and analysis in support of a DoD Government contract
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites: Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Experience gathering data, compiling reports and preparing correspondence
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and proficiency in typing both words and numbers
  • High degree of professionalism and adherence to high quality standards
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong communication and organization skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Familiar with utilizing SharePoint to update/maintain information
  • Provides revenue projections, monthly metrics and risk tracking
  • Preparation of project budgets and financial plans
  • Experience with tracking, analysis and reporting efforts including cost-to-complete projections
