Summary Generated by Built In

The Nuclear Company is the fastest growing AI tech-enabled startup in the nuclear and energy space, pioneering a fleet-scale approach to building the next generation of nuclear reactors. Through our design-once, build-many model, we're accelerating the deployment of safe, reliable, and affordable nuclear energy.

We operate with an AI-first mindset. Every employee is expected to leverage AI, technology, and the Nuclear Operating System (NOS) as integral components of their role to improve the quality, speed, and impact of their work. We expect every team member to continuously identify opportunities to automate workflows, enhance decision-making, improve processes, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of NOS as a strategic operating capability that enables The Nuclear Company to scale with excellence.

We hire people who are driven by purpose, thrive in ambiguity, and are energized by building what has never been built before. Our team combines intellectual curiosity with high agency, embraces candid feedback and continuous learning, and holds themselves and others to exceptional standards. Our values—Transparency, Responsibility, Unity, Scrappiness, and Tenacity—guide how we hire, collaborate, and make decisions every day. They are not words on a wall; they are the standard by which we operate. TRUST is the foundation of our safety culture, fostering intellectual honesty, accountability, and open communication, while our values challenge every team member to execute with urgency, humility, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to our mission.

About the role

This financial analyst is ideal for a finance professional who is equal parts analyst and builder. Sitting within Corporate FP&A, the Financial Analyst, FP&A Systems & Automation will own the data, systems, and automation that power planning, forecasting, and reporting across The Nuclear Company, connecting NetSuite and the surrounding systems of record into NOS and the FP&A data layer. You will build the connective infrastructure (the 'second brain') that lets a lean FP&A team scale with the business, and you will be at the leading edge of applying AI and automation, including NOS, to finance workflows. This is a foundational hire: you will define how FP&A captures, structures, and uses data as the company moves toward and beyond a public-company operating model.

Responsibilities

FP&A Systems & Data

  • Own the FP&A data architecture across the company's systems of record: NetSuite OneWorld (ERP: GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, procurement, consolidation and eliminations), NetSuite CRM (accounts, opportunities, pipeline), UKG (people, comp, payroll, timekeeping), Carta (cap table, grants, vesting), bank platforms, Primavera P6 (project schedules), and the Brookfield JV package.
  • Maintain the feeds into NOS, respecting the two intake paths (sources that route through the ERP first versus those that land directly in NOS) and the data-governance model (vendor SOC 1 sources versus data validated at intake, such as Primavera P6 and the Brookfield JV package).
  • Build and maintain the pipelines and a single source of truth for actuals, plan, and driver data, and define and enforce data hygiene, metric definitions, and reporting standards across the function.
  • Design and maintain the FP&A toolchain and reporting layer, including BI dashboards and the corporate reporting package.

NOS & Technology Cost Tracking

  • Build and maintain cost tracking for the Nuclear Operating System (NOS) and broader technology, cloud, and AI spend, connecting engineering and infrastructure cost drivers to the financial plan.
  • Partner with Engineering and Accounting to ensure technology costs are captured, allocated, and reported accurately.

Budgeting & Forecasting Infrastructure

  • Own the tooling, connectivity, and automation behind the budget and forecast: driver-based inputs (for example, headcount and payroll from UKG, schedules from Primavera P6, and actuals from NetSuite), model integration, and the elimination of manual, repetitive build steps.
  • Partner with the corporate FP&A analyst who operates the recurring planning cycle, providing the infrastructure that makes each cycle faster and cleaner.

AI & Automation

  • Identify, pilot, and deploy AI and automation across FP&A workflows, progressing toward agentic AI and a scalable, largely self-service process architecture.
  • Serve as the function's champion for leveraging NOS and emerging tools to improve the speed, quality, and impact of financial work.

Process, Documentation & Standards

  • Define and document FP&A processes, templates, and system standards so the function is scalable, auditable, and resilient.
  • Contribute to public-company readiness by strengthening process discipline, controls, and documentation across FP&A data and reporting.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data or Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 0-3+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial systems, or analytics, ideally in a high-growth, data-intensive, or startup environment.
  • Strong FP&A fundamentals: budgeting, forecasting, and three-statement financial logic.
  • Advanced Excel plus hands-on technical skill with at least one of SQL, Python, or a modern BI and analytics tool (for example, Power BI), with comfort connecting and transforming data across systems.
  • Familiarity with the systems in our stack or close analogues: NetSuite OneWorld (ERP), UKG (HRIS and payroll), Carta (equity), bank platforms, and Primavera P6, plus comfort working with their data models and APIs.
  • Genuine fluency with AI tools and a demonstrated instinct for automating manual workflows.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning ambiguous, build-from-scratch problems in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (OneWorld or SuiteAnalytics), UKG, Carta, or Primavera P6, or with integrating source-system APIs into a central data platform.
  • Experience building or administering an FP&A planning platform (for example, Anaplan, Pigment, or Planful).
  • Experience with data pipeline and ETL tooling and version control (for example, Git).
  • Experience developing AI or agentic workflows (LLM APIs, retrieval, or agent frameworks) in a business or finance context.
  • Exposure to public-company reporting, IPO readiness (including equity administration changes at listing), or SOX-relevant process documentation.
  • Interest in or exposure to energy, infrastructure, or other capital-intensive industries.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation packages
  • 401k with company match
  • Medical, dental, vision plans
  • Generous vacation policy, plus holidays
