The Financial Analyst-Financial Reporting Systems serves as a subject matter expert, ensuring their effective design, governance, and ongoing optimization. The role provides functional and finance-focused ERP system support, maintains robust documentation and controls, and partners with internal stakeholders to enhance system capabilities, reporting, and data integrity. Key Accountabilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the Company’s financial systems
- Provide finance-related ERP system administration support, including maintenance of Foundation Data Model (FDM)
- Maintain system documentation (process maps, SOPs, Job Aids, forms, change requests) for areas within position responsibility
- Plan, organize and participate in the continuous design, development, implementation and / or life-cycle support of NAV CANADA for specific financial systems
- Provide functional support for specific financial systems with a strong understanding of the underlying financial business environment, processes, and workflows
- Provide technical advice / guidance to clients in support of financial system maintenance and enhancement / changes and requirements gathering initiatives
- Partner with internal clients and finance stakeholders to evaluate business processes, develop and implement system‑enabled solutions, and recommend innovations aligned with Finance departmental, functional, and corporate objectives.
- Continuously assess and improve financial system processes, reporting, integrations, and data governance to optimize efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and audit requirements.
- Develop, enhance and maintain sophisticated financial models in Excel that support forecasting, annual budget, long-range planning, and scenarios analysis
- Keep abreast of business analysis trends, evolving business processes, and technologies specific to financial systems within the position of responsibility
- Participate in system‑related initiatives by supporting enhancements, modifications, and application solutions, including planning, coordinating, and executing system testing to ensure system reliability and expected performance.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Professional accounting designation – CPA
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Seasoned financial/technology professional with broad experience in accounting, financial application development, testing and delivery.
- Experience in financial analysis and manipulating large volumes of data.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of IFRS/Canadian GAAP and internal controls.
- Proven experience using Workday, iPLAN, CDM and Power BI.
- Knowledge of methodologies & tools for business analysis system testing.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, modelling, data manipulation, and reporting.
Abilities:
- Ability to identify issues, investigate, test, determine root cause and recommend courses of action/process improvements.
- Ability to recognize when issues require escalation and follow the appropriate escalation path.
- Ability to be diplomatic, aware of sensitive information and the application of that information
- Ability to innovate & be creative to achieve desired results
- Ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives at the same time, adjust and re-prioritize as necessary

Working conditions:
