Major Responsibilities
External Reporting
- Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and related SEC filings (Forms 6-K and 20-F) under US GAAP for Seapeak LLC.
- Prepare various subsidiary statutory financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS.
- Assist in the implementation of US GAAP and SEC regulation changes.
- Prepare audit documentation and respond to external and internal audit queries on a timely basis.
- Complete XBRL filings as required for Seapeak LLC.
- Prepare quarterly reports for submission to Seapeak’s infrastructure owners.
- Prepare quarterly variance analysis and investigate unusual or unexpected movements.
- Prepare accounting entries and various account reconciliations, including for complex and non-routine areas.
- Assist in preparing support and research for complex accounting transactions, as required.
- Participate in projects as required by management.
- Identify and implement process changes and improvements.
- Liaise and collaborate with accounting team members, joint-venture partners, service providers, international offices and cross-functional departments.
- University Business Degree including a professional accounting designation.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in the accounting field.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and previous experience researching and applying standards.
- Experience compiling financial statements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong computer software skills (MS Excel and MS Word).
- Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with others, with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
- Exposure to Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle FCC or WDesk.
- Shipping industry experience.
