THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Central Region Finance team. The ideal candidate acts as a strategic partner to the divisions and contributes to key business decisions through analysis and collaboration. This position will manage the region’s month-end closing and consolidation process; generate and interpret financial records and statements for management. Other key responsibilities include budgeting and forecasting, supporting special projects, and maintaining strong controls.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
- Coordinate monthly closing process across the region.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
- Analyze financial performance and prepare financial and operational projections.
- Assess and forecast key performance indicators.
- Prepare presentations for monthly management reviews.
- Prepare fiscal year-end financial statements and corporate tax returns; assist audit activities.
- Prepare external financial and bank compliance reports.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting planning process for the company.
- Research and provide opinions on proper GAAP accounting treatment for new processes.
- Effectively analyze and reconcile financial data with attention to detail.
- Participate in special projects as requested, such as implementation of the new ERP system.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Five to seven years of related experience in finance, accounting or audit.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting principles.
- Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting is required.
- Exercise sound judgment in performing subjective accounting analysis.
- Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Work independently and successfully as a team member.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, and an ability to perform under pressure.
- Able to communicate effectively, written and verbally
- Strong work ethic.
- Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
