Gurnick Academy is currently seeking a Full-time,  Financial Aid Advisor - Compliance. This is an Online/Remote position for Gurnick Academy Corporate Office. (The pay is dependent on the region in the United States)  The Job Duties for the FA Advisor will focus on overall assistance with the Financial Aid Department.

Basic Function
The Financial Aid Advisor for Compliance is responsible for ensuring the institution administers federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs in accordance with Title IV regulations, institutional policies, and applicable federal and state guidelines. This position is responsible for training new hires and providing ongoing training and development for staff. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of financial aid programs and Veteran Affairs educational benefits, demonstrates commitment to student success, and maintains a high level of accuracy and compliance in all aspects of financial aid administration.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review FAFSA applications, verification documents, and supporting records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Title IV regulations, institutional policies, and federal and state requirements.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation within applicable systems.
  • Assist with audits, program reviews, and compliance reporting activities.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes affecting financial aid administration and student eligibility.
  • Process and support Veteran Affairs educational benefits and related compliance requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews to identify processing errors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct new hire training, and provide ongoing staff training to support employee development, maintain performance standards, and ensure compliance with institutional, federal and state policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal financial aid regulations through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience & Education

  •  
  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial aid, higher education administration, compliance, or student services.
  • Working knowledge of Title IV federal financial aid regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
