Overview
Patelco Credit Union is growing its Investment Team! We are a looking for a Financial Advisor Associate (FAA) to provide retirement and investment services for our members to support our South Bay and Peninsula area branches. This is an excellent opportunity to become an FAA partnering with an experienced Financial Advisor who will mentor you to grow your book of business. We offer warm leads and salary + Commission.
In this role, the successful candidate key responsibilities will include working with registered representatives in assigning the servicing and transitioning of “B” and “C” client base, conducting regularly scheduled reviews with assigned clients to monitor client progress toward client’s goals, and serving as the broker of record for select member client accounts.
This position can be based out of the following branch locations:
- South Bay – Sunnyvale and surrounding branches
- Peninsula – San Mateo and surrounding branches
- San Jose
Responsibilities
- Provide investment advice to current and prospective clients to help them achieve their financial goals.
- Recommend suitable financial products and services depending on each client’s particular financial status and objectives.
- Educate clients regarding the risks, advantages and disadvantages of the different products and services available to them to meet their financial goals.
- Partner closely with the credit union branch manager to create a plan to educate members and provide coaching and sales support to credit union employees.
- Contact assigned clients and schedule appointments to review goals.
- Process paperwork and trades for assigned clients.
- Handle routine member inquiries; effectively work with the back-office support personnel at vendors and broker-dealer to ensure a high degree of quality service and member satisfaction. Report specific problems to Program Manager on an as needed basis.
- Set up and maintain client files with appropriate information and in accordance with FINRA compliance standards.
- Keep all securities and insurance licensing current through successful completion of Continuing Education Requirements.
- Complete weekly report of contacts made.
- Service branch referrals for members with investment needs.
Qualifications
- Active FINRA SIE, Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65) and California Insurance License
- Financial services industry experience
- Client-focused
- An excellent listener with strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Target Base Pay
$64,488 / year (plus commissions)
