Your Mission 💪

You will be working in boxxe’s finance team where you will combine technical knowledge with communication to ensure a strong control environment and compliance with Financial and Tax legislation. As Financial Accountant your role has responsibility in the business to ensure accounting implications are carefully considered across all commercial, operational, and strategic decisions.

What you’ll be doing 🎯
  • Working on the consolidation and delivering accurate statutory annual accounts for all Group companies. Ensuring accurate reporting for complex areas such as M&A, treasury and share schemes.
  • Working with the Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant on month end procedures and monthly management reporting.
  • Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the key deliverables during the statutory audit, taking ownership of day-to-day queries/responses and ensure that the deadlines in the PBC list are met.
  • Support the Financial Reporting Manager in the preparation, submission and management of UK and international tax obligations, including ad-hoc tax projects. Liaising with external advisors as necessary.
  • Work with finance, legal, export and operational teams to ensure that we have appropriate and efficient processes in place for VAT and sales tax.. Championing automation and digitalisation wherever possible.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and internal policies for VAT and sales tax processes.
  • Manage import and export VAT requirements including reconciliation of Customs Declaration Service (CDS) statements and verification of import VAT certificates (C79 certificates).
  • Ensure robust financial controls are established, well understood and are being followed throughout the business.
  • Assist with day-to-day financial operations and support other ad hoc activities as required.
What experience we think you’ll need 🚀
  • Practice qualified (ACA or similar) with one or more year’s industry experience.
  • Good knowledge of FRS102 and the ability to apply in practical situations. 
  • Prior group accounting and consolidation experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Exposure to international tax and VAT desirable but not essential
  • Experience in process improvement, automating processes where you can, and systems change desirable.
  • You enjoy a fast-paced environment, work well as part of a team, and have good collaborative skills. Proactive and able to prioritise a variety of demands under time pressure and work flexibly to meet demands.
  • Confident in managing external advisors
  • A great people person with an enthusiasm for working with others. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present and simplify financial information.
  • Strong/Advanced Excel skills
  • You have a commitment to excellence and close attention to detail.
  • Previous exposure to NetSuite is ideal but not essential.
  • Previous exposure to Caseware is ideal but not essential.
