About the team
The finance department of Thales Nederland consists of ~50 team members organized in 3 different competence centers (clusters):
• Shared Services Accounting, Reporting & Controlling;
• Budgetary & Price Control;
• Bid & Project, Industrial and Procurement Control (Business Control)
Shared Services Accounting, Reporting & Controlling is responsible for accounting, reporting and controlling of entities of Thales Nederland. The cluster is also responsible for internal control and subsidy control. For the Accounting team, we are looking for a: Financial Accountant
About the job
As a Financial Accountant at Thales, you will be an essential part of our finance team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and reports. You will take ownership of key accounting processes, balance sheet reconciliations and acting as a vital link between local operations and the global Thales Group. In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities will include the key user role of the General Ledger and Accounts Payable of Thales NL, supporting audits and compliance, and delivering accurate and on time reporting to corporate management.
The main tasks are:
- Responsible for preparing and delivering accurate & on time financial reports to Thales Group.
- Responsible for the Balance Sheet and Cash flow overviews of Corporate Thales NL.
- Responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliations of specific General Ledger accounts and/or specific Thales NL entities.
- Responsible for the General Ledger of Thales NL (Chart of Accounts, bookings, etc).
- Responsible for a number of internal control checkpoints.
- Key user for Accounts Payable
- Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with Thales Group instructions.
- Participating in various improvement projects, such as the implementation of a new ERP system.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders within Finance and other departments such as HR & IT.
- Responsible for a number of CBS enquiries.
About you
- You have a Master’s degree in Finance and at least 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar finance role. Several years in an audit company is a pre.
- You have an enthusiastic, proactive attitude and take full ownership of your work.
- You possess strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- You have the ability to link financial figures with operational processes.
- You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- You are able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and you can effectively engage with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- You have a solid affinity with ERP systems and IT tools, with practical experience considered a plus.
- You are adaptable to change, committed to continuous improvement, and eager to contribute to process enhancements.
