Our client, a dynamic and industry-leading commercial and industrial real estate group, is seeking an analytical, deadline-driven Financial Accountant to manage robust financial reporting frameworks and oversee statutory compliance across their premier property portfolio. This role is pivotal in transforming raw financial records into actionable management accounts and audit-ready financial statements. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IFRS and CaseWare, driving precision during peak pressure periods and serving as the primary liaison for external auditors.
Financial Statement Preparation: Examine, analyze, and interpret complex accounting records to compile monthly management accounts, interim reports, and annual financial statements.
Audit & Compliance Management: Architect comprehensive underlying working papers for external audit files and spearhead the end-to-end management of annual financial statement audits and specialized agreed-upon engagements.
Audit Liaison: Serve as the central point of contact for external auditors, addressing queries efficiently to streamline fieldwork and ensure clean, timely sign-offs.
Discrepancy Monitoring: Systematically track, investigate, and rectify accounting discrepancies to preserve data integrity and internal control compliance.
System Optimization: Utilize advanced financial systems to enhance reporting accuracy, with a preference for integrating Sage ERP and handling corporate consolidations where applicable.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related commerce field.
Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in the accounting field, inclusive of completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
Core Technical Competencies:
Hands-on IFRS statutory reporting experience is strictly essential.
Extensive, practical CaseWare software experience is strictly essential.
Preferred Advantages: Prior exposure to corporate consolidations, corporate tax compliance, and working experience with Sage ERP platforms.
Analytical & Deadline Driven: Operates with a strict sense of urgency to comfortably meet internal and statutory reporting timelines under high-pressure conditions.
Advanced Excel: Highly proficient in utilizing advanced Excel functions for complex financial modeling and data manipulation.
Agility: Demonstrated capacity for adapting and responding smoothly to organizational and regulatory changes.
