Job Description
The Financial accountant is primarily responsible for providing financial accounting support (i.e., creation and maintenance of financial accounting records) in one or more of the following areas: General Ledger, Bank/Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Intercompany transactions, Fixed Assets, Inventory, operation of financial controls and general financial reporting and supporting and supplementary documentation. The accountant will ensure the accurate and efficient recording of the daily financial activities of the companies (i.e., all legal entities) located in the US.

Location and timing of position:
- August 2024 start date
- Fully remote role, but there may be opportunities to connect with colleagues in person on an ad-hoc basis. No plans to return to office as our US corporate team is fully remote with no physical location.
- Based on the East Coast of the US (or willing to work EST time zone)
Job requirements:
- You must have full working rights for the United States. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor applicants for employment visas.

- Flexibility to adjust work hours to accommodate multiple time zones
- You will be responsible for day-to-day transactional processing across several (approx. 15) entities in the US alongside the rest of the US accounting team, including but not limited to AR, AP, Cash/Bank, Payroll, Intercompany transactions
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
- SAP 4 Hana experience; additional company-specific training will be available
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Two years of working experience as an accountant
- Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Junior bookkeeper/accountant (qualification not required, but it would be a plus if they are studying towards an accounting degree/qualification)
- Eager to learn and will benefit from receiving hands-on coaching
- Interest in Crypto industry and technology sector

Supervision required/Supervisory responsibility:
- Direction and guidance provided by the Line Manager.
- No direct line management.
Principal accountabilities and responsibilities:
General Ledger
Process and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis Ensure bank and cash accounts are regularly reconciled Prepare and adjust journal entries as needed Prepare and post monthly expense accruals, prepayments, deferred revenues, and expenses Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support (i.e., Treasury, FP&A)
Accounts receivable/payable
Setup and maintenance of all customers/vendors in the accounting system Review income/expense reports for validation of accounting records Reconcile all direct debit vendor invoices to ensure agreement with expense reports Ensure expense reports are coded with proper GL account numbers and correct cost /profit centers Ensure invoices are processed for payment in a timely manner and that all expenses have been approved in accordance with the Group´s approval matrix
General duties
Maintain fixed assets and inventory and documentation, including monthly recording of depreciation and reconciliation of asset register with GL accounts Supporting the external advisors in the preparation of the governmental required filings such as VAT returns, EU Sales Listings, and any other census or statistical reporting as required by the country Generate and transmit payment files to the Treasury for payment Perform monthly Intercompany reconciliations Assist in the creation of controls documentation to evidence the timely operation of financial controls Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, collaborating internally and externally with local advisors and auditors, as required Assist the Finance Manager on special ad-hoc projects, as required
