Financial Accountant - HOP

As a Financial Accountant within our global reporting team, you will report on the HOP (rapid grocery delivery) part of the business. This will include monthly reporting, working with the auditors and ensuring that statutory requirements are met. You will report into the Finance Manager for HOP and Editions. You will be based in our HQ (London, Cannon Street), and we are operating on a hybrid model where you will be in the office three times a week.

What you'll do:

• Reporting on each month end, post journals and work on balance sheet reconciliations;

• Performing monthly variance analysis of the P&L;

• Liaising with business partners and site managers to ensure site-level receipting and reporting is accurate and complete;

• Providing analysis of site-level opex to the Finance & Strategy team each month-end with explanation of any significant variances to budget;

• Processing property costs (fund requests) from our property management company at a site-by-site level;

• Processing capex spend and monitoring this for Finance & Strategy and site managers;

• Improving reporting processes for Hop by interacting with different departments (site operations, analytics, etc);

• Work with the auditors throughout the year to fulfil their requests and answer their queries.

• Keep on top of local statutory requirements to ensure we are compliant.

• Liaise with the wider reporting team on processes performed at a group level, and take responsibility for specific processes as required.

Requirements

• Accountancy qualification, ACA/ACCA/CIMA.

• Technical accounting knowledge.

• A desire to take responsibility and ‘own’ your work

• You are motivated to make improvements and an awareness of the importance of deadlines.
