Schrödinger's mission is to revolutionize drug discovery and materials science through the use of breakthrough computational software. We are currently looking for a part-time (Monday-Thursday), paid Finance/Accounting Intern to join our team based in Portland, Oregon for the summer of 2025.
Our Finance team comprises over 40 professionals involved in a broad range of functional areas, including general accounting, revenue accounting, financial statement preparation, tax, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, equity plan management and payroll. The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable understanding of individual teams as well as the big picture of the finance department of a publicly traded company.

What You'll Do:
- Gain valuable hands on work experience with potential to include month end close procedures, payables, reporting, workpapers, process documentation, analysis, and more
- Complete special projects as assigned both individually and collaboratively
- Learn about the day-to-day functions of individuals and teams in the finance department
- Deepen understanding of the interconnected workings of a fully functional accounting and finance department
- Network, meet industry professionals, and engage in mentorship through your internship
- Experience first-hand what a career in Schrödinger's finance department may look like
What you'll need:
- Entering final year of bachelor or master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Financial Data Analytics, or other applicable field
- High proficiency with Microsoft and Google suite a must (Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- Strong aptitude for learning and navigating new systems and software
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
- Slide building and presentation skills a plus
Pay and perks:

Estimated hourly rate: $25/hr. The actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
