SmartFinancial is a leading insurance technology company working on building tools to make the insurance shopping process better, simpler, and more efficient. We are looking for an experienced VP of Finance & Corporate Development to join our rapidly growing company. This candidate will be a key strategic partner to the executive team and will support the CFO and work cross-functionally across product, business development, and finance teams to lead all Corporate Development activities across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the company’s leadership team
• Independently lead deal-making across all corporate finance and corporate development activities
• Provide financial, analytical modeling, detailed due diligence, and strategic support
• Research the market landscape to identify acquisition, partnership, and strategic investment opportunities
• Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts, venture capital investors, and financial advisors to assist in building transaction opportunities
• Help define and continuously improve core operational KPIs
• Execute on deal mechanics and negotiations

Skills and Requirements:

• Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
• 5+ years of experience in the internet, software, and consumer tech industry in a corporate development/strategy leadership role
• Experience in management consulting or investment banking is a plus
• Proven experience raising capital
• IPO experience is a plus
• M&A and investor relations experience
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Proficient at leveraging analytics, data, financial models, and insights to drive decision-making
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
