The PeopleSoft Financial Accounting Configuration Specialist is a part of the Financial Systems and Business Solutions team and is primarily accountable for accounting configuration of customized processes that support capitation payments out of the Alternative Payment System (APS). This position is relied upon to provide business and technology support to the Finance division on the PeopleSoft Financials ERP system.

Essential Functions:

  • Configure the PeopleSoft financial system to achieve desired business outcomes including complex accounting rules and/or chartfield maintenance
  • Understands transaction level accounting flow and present solutions to senior team members that lead to efficient accounting processes including associated financial system and process controls
  • Participate on project teams as a SME within or external to Finance, including participation in business and system requirement development and implementation planning
  • Validate system-testing results
  • Act as point of contact for finance areas and IT to acquire and share information relative to new or existing financial system processes
  • Collaborate with peers and different levels of management in Finance and IT to ensure priorities are clearly articulated. Responsible for escalating requests on behalf of business users.
  • Resolve system and/or business process issues and/or mitigate risks to systems and business process.
  • Monitor interfaces between or within a financial systems and resolve issues identified in reconciliation processes
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to financial systems to financial system team management
  • Assists senior team members in the development of training materials and may conduct training sessions on new processes and modules
  • May develop data structures to support financial process (e.g. such as data cube, data transformation, etc.)
  • May mentor junior team members


What You Must Have:

  • 5+ years related accounting experience including at least 2 years working in large corporate financial accounting systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Accounting Information Systems or equivalent related work experience
  • Knowledge of Florida Blue PeopleSoft Finance (FSCM) custom configuration processes
  • Experience supporting delivered configuration processes for PeopleSoft FSCM
  • Intermediate to proficient knowledge in accounting, auditing or business processes
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within and across teams
  • Change agent with a proven record of implementing process improvements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel


What We Would Prefer:• Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge or related query language• Ability to multi-task and handle several assignments concurrently while still meeting deadlines• Strong organizational and time management skills• Experience working in the health care industry • Familiarity with project management terminology• Experience working in a large, complex corporate environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Proven ability to effectively collaborate within and across teams• May have a professional designation such as CPA, CISA, CITP, PMP, CPP • Experience working for a public accounting firm• Working knowledge of project methodologies including Waterfall or Agile

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences). Occasionally
