SemanticBits is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant/Project Control who will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for government contract accounting across the entire organization. This role is partially remote due to COVID-19. Candidates will be expected to report to the office in Herndon, VA as needed, with the potential to transition back to full time in the office.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for Creating and tracking budgetary plans for Time and Material projects based on the contract awards. Update forecasts, actuals, variances on a monthly basis to ensure adequate fundings and communicate areas of concerns and improvements to the program managers and upper management
- Submit monthly project deliverables, create ad hoc project reports and interface with contracts administrator, hiring managers and program managers
- Responsible for monthly Time and Material project billings using Unanet in accordance with contract requirements including providing receipts for ODCs. Ensure accuracy and completeness of invoice package and timely submission
- Backup person for FFP billings, contract setup and other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- At least 5 years of billing and cost accounting experience
- Government contracting/Unanet experience preferred
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Initiative and ability to work independently and anticipate next steps
- Proficient in Word and Excel
