Job Summary:

The Revenue Accountant has primary responsibility for all functions related to the timely and accurate recognition of revenue according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The role will also be responsible for assisting with revenue budgets and analysis and reviewing non-standard customer contracts prior to approval to ensure all terms are appropriately considered and adjusted as necessary. The role will require a high degree of self-management and prudent judgment. The Revenue Accountant may work with confidential information and must have the ability to multi-task, be detail conscious, and communicate well with others. This position requires flexibility as well as the ability to execute with high demand.

The Revenue Accountant conducts highly complex work critical to the organization and should be an expert in their field. The role may receive instructions on non-recurring projects from the Corporate Service management team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting functions as assigned, which could include:

  • Analyze contracts and sales agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Prepared technical accounting memos in relation to revenue related matters
  • Assist the internal control teams with ensuring the revenue process is SOX compliant
  • Perform quarterly standalone selling price analyses
  • Work with managers and executives to prepare revenue budgets
  • Complete analysis of actual results compared to budget
  • Prepare revenue reconciliations and other reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist with month end closing tasks as assigned
  • Ability to answer questions and provide guidance to organization on revenue related items
  • Assist with company demand planning process


Work with Senior Systems Business Analyst to setup new pricelist items and ensure proper functioning of ERP

Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree preferred
  • Public accounting experience required; Big 4 preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in software/SaaS accounting is preferred
  • Familiarity and experience working with NetSuite (ARM and SuiteBilling preferred)
  • Experience with ASC606 and ASC 340-40
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid change
  • The ability to work well with others under the stress of meeting deadlines is expected
  • A high degree of organizational skill and professionalism


Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
