Senior Financial Analyst
About the job
The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will perform monthly financial and operational insights, reporting, including both short-term and long-term forecasting, review of strategic business investments, and analysis of global performance focused on billings and cash flow. You'll need to have a proven ability to understand complex financial problems while providing explanations and solutions which are sound and clearly communicated. As a Senior Financial Analyst, your work will require a global focus as the core set of your responsibilities will be global by nature.
What you will do
- Focus on corporate KPIs, including querying data and running reports from source systems
- Support data initiatives, including maintenance of historic data files and connected financials project
- Communicate requirements for dashboards and data analysis
- Produce well designed and highly accurate presentations and deliverables
- Monitor performance trends and forecasts and ensure models are up to date
- Work closely with offshore teams to facilitate development of reporting and modeling
- Innovate improvements to analytical frameworks and processes
- Answer questions and articulate requirements to stakeholders
- Develop relationships and build an expansive cross-functional network
What you will bring
- 3+ years of related professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Expertise in spreadsheet-based financial forecasting, e.g., sensitivity analysis and models using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinker willing to go above and beyond to provide business insights
- Entrepreneurial approach and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to handle ambiguity at times and add structure where necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
The following are considered a plus:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification or solid understanding of accounting principles specifically related to revenue
- 1+ year of experience working in a software company
- Experience forecasting billings and cash flow in a subscription-based model
- Intermediate-level capability with tools and systems like Oracle, Hyperion, OneStream, Salesforce.com (SFDC), Tableau, etc.
- Experience working with a global team; solid networking skills
