Job Summary

The Product Analytics team at Bread Financial is tasked with navigating and understanding Bread Financial's vast first and third party data and works closely with management stakeholders across Product, Finance, Engineering, and other departments to ensure that we are making the best data-backed decisions we possibly can. As a key member of our growing team, the Lead, Financial & Revenue Strategic Insights demonstrates a passion for data and prides themselves on the developing the ability to use data to shape decisions around business strategy, product design, and profitability. While working alongside experience data professionals, this role involves working cross functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure the best data-backed decisions are made.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

Business Intelligence and Data Storytelling: Using Looker or other BI platforms, work closely with our business teams to define new key performance indicators (KPIs) and build out dashboards to communicate results to internal stakeholders with key projects for tracking/monitoring purposes. Key output from analysis will require prepping data to be shared for critical insights and presented to business leadership teams.

Statistical Testing: Design, set-up, monitor, and assess changes to our platform via A/B testing or other testing methodologies depending on business needs. Contribute to the overall project start to finish, from brainstorming new ways to improve conversion and profitability to calculating the final results to inform the roll-out decision.

Statistical Analysis and Predictive Modeling: Answer ad-hoc questions and add to our knowledge base. Write complex SQL queries to bring internal and external data together. Apply statistical modeling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, time series analysis, and even data science techniques where appropriate.

Learning and Teaching: As the team grows, contribute to a company-wide data-first culture and team-wide culture of continuous learning and improvement. Share discoveries, refine our problem discovery process, and shape our processes and infrastructure.  Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills when working with internal and external partners.

Goal Setting and Data Forecasting: Engage with our business partners and key stakeholders to define success metrics for measurement purposes. Apply statistical analysis with project requests to set performance expectations, track and monitor post deployment KPIs, and share key insights and recommendations to support business decisions that will help drive revenue or cost savings impacts.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:

Remote or Hybrid; some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, Math, or Computer Sciences

5 or more years Experience with data storytelling and presenting analysis to senior leaders to recommend data driven business decisions. Experience with any technologies in our analytics stack: Snowflake, PostgreSQL, DBT, Databricks and/or Spark, Airflow, Python, Github, Looker, and Docker

Knowledge about financial services

Demonstrated expert knowledge of statistics, i.e. confidence intervals, linear regression, and hypothesis testing

Professional experience in mentorship and/or leadership roles

Preferred Experience:

Masters Degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, Math or Computer Sciences.

7 or more years experience in Financial Services or Credit Card Industry , Experience with web applications, Familiarity with other languages in our technology stack: Golang and Javascript, Familiarity with an agile working environment
