Head of Strategic Finance

We are in search of a veteran finance leader to build the Strategic Finance function. You will report to VP of Finance and own M&A, New Markets, Pricing & Packaging, and Business Insights. You will play a key role in providing insight into business performance and supporting strategic decision-making that drives growth, profitability and capital allocation. This is a highly visible role in the organization, involving close partnership with senior business leaders across ClickUp.
The Role:
- Evaluate TAM, revenue, and profit opportunity for new products and markets
- Build and maintain unit economic frameworks to evaluate the return on investment of various business strategies and guide team decision-making
- Partner with the executive team to build M&A strategy and support acquisition target analyses, including financial due diligence
- Apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision-making related to new initiatives, products, and business opportunities
- Think strategically and then complete - we operationalize our insights by implementing projects and cross-functional programs
- Build scalable processes and systems to enhance financial visibility, control, and planning effectiveness that supports the next wave of ClickUp’s growth
- Collaborate with the FP&A function to incorporate strategic business unit initiatives into corporate model and support financial planning process
- Build financial and operational metrics dashboards to report key insights
- Facilitate deal negotiations with vendors and partners, including financial analysis
- Hire, develop, and own an engaged and successful Strategic Finance team
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, consulting or venture capital; 4+ years of experience at high-growth technology startups
- 3+ years people management experience
- Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills
- Effective project management skills; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
- History of building positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization
- Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
- Eagerness to dig into the details and move quickly at a hyper-growth startup
