We are seeking a Nashville, TN based Fund Administration Manager to join our Accounting Team in Global Fund Administration.

The Global Fund Administration department is responsible for the oversight of approximately 600 pooled vehicles domiciled in the US, Luxembourg, Cayman Islands, as well as other global locations across the world. We oversee the day to day Net Asset Value calculation as well as the regulatory and client reporting requirements as required on a product by product basis. The candidate should have a proficient knowledge of mutual fund accounting. The job requires knowledge of tax issues, SEC regulations, financial reporting and the use of spreadsheets. It also requires excellent analytical skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills. The knowledge and skills required are acquired through the completion of a college education as well as experience in the mutual fund industry. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in standard desktop applications (excel, word, outlook, etc).

Describe the role:

The Fund Administration Manager plays a key role in overseeing the administration of the day to day activities of all pooled vehicles for the Global Fund Administration department. The candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the requirements of our internal and external customers are managed efficiently and effectively as we look to provide "Best in Class Service" to all of our customers.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The Manager oversees a team including a team leader and several fund admin analysts in overseeing a group of pooled vehicles for the Global Fund Administration department

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Authorize, review and/or make critical decisions for individual funds.
  • Instruct accounting staff on new and revised procedures (corporate and departmental)
  • Ensure funds adhere to departmental accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and advise on certain tax issues.
  • Ensure accuracy of distribution and tax data at fund and shareholder levels.
  • Address questions or concerns raised by audit firms when conducting year end audits
  • Review Shareholder Reports and ensure timely dissemination
  • Vendor Management
  • Participate in new product launches or liquidations
  • Assist account managers with resolution of complex problems.
  • Set and monitor accounting procedures for new or complex funds with Senior Management
  • Liaise among our internal customers and various vendors (portfolio managers, legal, custodians, vendors, etc.) on various issues.
  • Participate in the departmental salary administration and personnel management process (performance reviews).
  • Ensure Fund Compliance with IRS, SEC, CSSF and other regulatory bodies
  • Income analysis for Dividend Committee Meetings
  • Review expense analysis as well as creating new budgets
  • Analyze NAV Calculations for accuracy
  • Recommend and participate in the implementation of changes and enhancements to the department
  • Process Improvements.
  • Document procedures.
  • Reply to client requests
  • Responsible for staff's technical and professional development.

The oversight nature of this role allows a candidate to take their accounting knowledge to become more analytical in nature. We have a vast array of product types for candidates to learn over time and we are a department that prefers to promote from within when the opportunity arises.

Qualifications, Experience, Education:

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 - 7 + years of experience in the mutual fund or finance industry as well as a 4 year degree in a business field (preferably accounting or finance related).

The candidate should have a proficient knowledge of mutual fund accounting. The job requires knowledge of tax issues, SEC regulations, financial reporting and the use of spreadsheets. It also requires excellent analytical skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills. The knowledge and skills required are acquired through the completion of a college education as well as experience in the mutual fund industry.

Special Knowledge:

The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in standard desktop applications (excel, word, outlook, etc). Knowledge of RIC reporting requirements, financial reporting experiences and any alternative product knowledge is a plus. Candidates with process management/improvement experience is preferred.
