Description

The Financial Reporting Lead prepares and distributes periodic financial statements for users other than those directly employed by the organization. The Financial Reporting Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

Lead the financial activities of a recent acquisition, working in the short run to integrate the company into Humana systems and longer term overseeing the financial health of the organization. The Financial Reporting Lead ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards and organization policies. Prepares consolidation journal entries, eliminates intercompany transactions and consolidates divisional and subsidiary financial accounts in a timely and accurate basis for inclusion in internal and external financial statements. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related
• CPA
• 5+ years of experience
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, autonomy and high level of ownership
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASC 606 Revenue recognition experience
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Big four public accounting experience and/or experience with a large publicly traded company
