What you will do

Under the general direction of the Corporate Finance Manager, our TIPS Analyst is responsible for data processing, analysis, reconciliation, journal entries and customer service duties primarily related to the TIPS function at Corporate. The TIPS function is responsible to distribute more than $250 million of charges which are invoiced centrally. These charges are distributed across all regions and business units of the Enterprise. Must be able to effectively and professionally work with stakeholders at all levels of organization. The principle duties of this role will be to support the TIPS process at Johnson Controls.

How you will do it

  • Load Microsoft Excel invoice distribution files to the Oracle TIPS Database
  • Use analytic and problem solving skills to assign new charges to the proper Enterprise location
  • Work with accounts payable, and various commodity owners to ensure all TIPS invoices are paid on time
  • Using TIPS automated processes, prepare monthly batch files and distribute same to customers
  • Manage and maintain a group mailbox, responding to internal customers questions about TIPS charges
  • Prepare journal entries to record Corporate TIPS activity
  • Prepare month end accrual and standing accrual analysis
  • Prepare reconciliation of TIPS activity for the month
  • Follow up with commodity owners for any charges that are not assigned to a cost center in the Enterprise
  • Plan, test and execute the addition of new services into the TIPS system

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Highly motivated individual, with ability to adapt to changing environment
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Knowledge and understanding of Intercompany accounting concepts
  • Team player who will build relationships across departments and geographies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to work with geographically diverse customers
  • Commitment to excellent Customer Service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Outstanding organizational skills, and ability to track short and long term deliverables
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Understanding of database concepts and configurations a plus
  • Experience with SAP and HFM a plus
