Financial Analyst
Our Opportunity:
Chewy seeks a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team. Combining an understanding of finance, strong practical knowledge of financial statements, and showcasing the ability to use data to make-and-drive decisions, this candidate will perform various financial planning and analysis processes to support key decisions, drive growth, and ensure financial objectives are achieved.
What you'll do:
- Drive the close, forecasting and budgeting processes for headcount and G&A expenses
- Partner with team members and cross-functional leaders to track and review financial performance
- Assist in building and maintaining financial models for budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
- Identify planning assumptions for key business drivers and track financial performance, as well as identify risks and opportunities to budget/forecast
- Work cross-functionally with Accounting to support monthly close processes (basic knowledge of GAAP)
- Recognize and propose analyses influencing business partners and finance leaders to drive positive change in the business
- Assist in the creation of ad-hoc analyses for cross-functional leaders and management
- Actively participate in the strategic planning and annual planning processes
- Effectively manage numerous projects at a given time in a fast paced environment
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- 1+ years relevant finance experience (CPG and e-commerce a plus) with a basic understanding of GAAP and strong grasp of financial statements
- Excellent financial analysis and modeling skills, and experience in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Experience with financial reporting systems and database navigation
- Must be proactive with ability to think creatively, self-start, work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines / prioritize changing workloads while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication / collaboration skills required; role involves building strong relationships across the organization
- Advanced Excel modeling skills
