Job Summary
Seeking a Finance Manager to lead various programs within the Strategic Missiles & Defense Mission Area. This leader will join our dynamic Integrated Missile Defense Systems (IMDS) and Command & Control (C2S) finance teams. You must be able to work in a fast-pace environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements. In this role, you will serve as the Finance manager to several programs and business areas, including management of C2S portfolio of mostly international DCS business, along with the RKV and National Team programs.
This Business Manager requires proactive leadership that has responsibility for strategic direction input as well as tactical day-to-day financial product review and operational decision-making. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the financial forecasting and reporting, variance analysis, presenting at business level reviews, Earned Value Management and compliance, Estimates at Completion (EACs), proposal oversight & new business capture, and working with internal and external customers. Also, managing the program finance team by hiring, developing, coaching/mentoring, and rotating employees.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable producing individual work product, analysis and in use of system tools; but be able to lead group by setting expectations and cadence to effectively operate. Additionally, a candidate for this role should possess strong technical knowledge of finance and program controls, strong problem-solving abilities and good communication skills. The position will have frequent interaction with senior level leaders and functional managers, and ability to partner with those managers will be imperative to ensure businesses and programs are running efficiently, while collaboratively problem-solving and proactively managing risk.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  1. Provide vision; lead and supervise a team of Financial Managers & Analysts
  2. Effective management of day-to day operations while maintaining a strategic focus driven by meeting/exceeding business financial goals and commitments
  3. Finance staffing, coaching and building team strength
  4. Estimate at Complete (EAC) - Support the development, review and approval various program EACs with all contract types and various customers
  5. New Business capture - Proposal development & Gate review & approval
  6. Financial Forecasting/FP&A - AOP & Long-Range Plan (LRP) Development
  7. Investment planning - Manage and provide oversight of investment portfolio (Capital, IR&D, NBI) for executing to strategic plan
  8. Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) variance analysis, data reviewing and reporting
  9. Participate and lead in Contract Close-outs and Terminations
  10. Participation and support in weekly and monthly program & functional business reviews to ensure business efficiency and risk mitigation.

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Master's is equal to 3 years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related
  • Finance Management background with 10+ years of relevant financial work experience
  • Business level management capabilities focused on financial goals and commitments
  • New Business Capture and early Gate process experience/knowledge
  • EVMS Experience (Earned Value Management)
  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines (Contracts, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, etc) in program development and execution
  • Experience with computer skills, particularly in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience in meeting critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements
  • Experience working independently and with higher levels of management
  • Masters' Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related
  • Demonstrate ability to be proactive, creative, and innovative and use critical and strategic thinking
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize program management systems and tools
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Independently create and accurately analyze financial data
  • Prior program experience in Earned Value & Budget Baseline Management (EVMS)
  • Proficiency using SAP/APEX/PMX/PRISM/MRP
  • Must be independent and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Proactive with demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve
  • Working knowledge of Raytheon financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
