ABOUT THE ROLE 

Stitch Fix is looking for a Business System Lead, Finance Analytical Solutions to join our dynamic team and one of the fastest growing on-line retailers. Stitch Fix continues its growth trajectory with aggressive business expansion goals, and we are seeking experienced and motivated talent to help drive innovative solutions and implement new and exciting reporting and analytics tools to support these initiatives. 

The team: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Systems, you will play an integral role in identifying and delivering insights that drive and scale a fast-moving, public company. You will partner with our Finance, IT, Engineering, & Merchandising teams to define key business metrics and drivers, create and maintain the logic used to extract these data sets from our underlying IT systems. You will support the development of implementation of new reporting and analytics tools. While this role sits within the Finance organization and supports FP&A and Merchandise functions, the initiatives are highly integrated and you will have the unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to the business operations, build close partnerships across the entire organization and contribute to the success of building scalable reporting and self-service analytics capabilities as we take our highly successful business to the next level.

A successful candidate will possess experience supporting highly complex cross-functional reporting & analytics projects within finance, deep understanding of internal management reporting requirements enabled by financial applications, general understanding of accounting, monthly close and SOX controls as well as apparel, eCommerce and retail business processes. Critical success factors include business acumen, the ability to plan ahead and foresee dependencies and roadblocks. Assertiveness combined with a focus on building partnerships and a solution-oriented mind-set are musts for this role.

YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…

  • Define key business metrics across Finance and Merchandise Planning. Develop and maintain the technical logic used to extract this data from our underlying IT systems
  • Perform impact analysis on the effect of existing metrics logic as the business shifts and grows, as well as develop new metrics supporting the business change 
  • Lead creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and provide ongoing metrics education across the organization.
  • Leverage research and analytics to develop reports and dashboards that demonstrate business implications and recommendations
  • Easily communicate the technical logic for these business metrics to key stakeholders and partners.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders in Finance, IT, Merchandising, and across the company
  • Be a personable and approachable partner who is able to connect with all members on the team and throughout the business
  • Remain detail-oriented while working across a wide variety of projects
  • Act as a subject matter expert in company-wide data warehouse migration, represented finance team to submit requirements and validate the implementation of application deployment
  • Share ideas on key decisions and solution designs for management reporting and BI analytics through presenting options and recommendations based on experience and industry best practices.
  • Support the development and the delivery of training on reporting applications to stakeholders and end users
  • Self Starter, can take a complex business problem, extract the requirements and understand the business case, design solutions and execute a solution, communicate back the issue, solution to the business
  • Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and report on data quality
  • Responsible for establishing best practices and adherence to the principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions
  • Performed data cleansing, manipulation and ETL for ad hoc analysis
  • Respond to data and product related inquiries in real-time to support business and technical teams

  • Are passionate about technology and relish the opportunity to learn and apply new technical concepts to your work, Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant systems or similar analytics experience
  • Are an expert in SQL, have strong experience with Database Management systems such as Redshift, Oracle and Snowflake. 
  •  ETL Experience with Talend a strong plus
  • Visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau would be a strong plus
  • Possess deep experience and demonstrated ability to simplify complex data sets and extract non-obvious insights with frameworks and analyses
  • Are passionate about driving automation in delivering information and insights
  • Have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across different functions and effectively influence senior business partners
  • Enjoy solving complex and unstructured problems
  • You have a B.S. degree in Finance, Business Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related field. 
  • You possess business acumen; you have Retail, eCommerce, supply chain and international experience
  • You are extremely articulate and have the ability to communicate complex business concepts and solutions effectively to technical and non-technical partners
  • You have broad Finance knowledge including Accounting, Financial Reporting (internal/external), Management Reporting, Profitability Analysis
  • You are a quick learner, curious and seek to fully understand. You are a creative problem solver who thinks outside the box.
  • You are accountable, organized, great at multitasking and thrive in a fast paced environment. You have excellent facilitation and coordination skills.
  • Experience with Anaplan or Essbase would be a strong plus
  • Possess superior Excel and Google Sheets skills
